WHERE WE STARTED...

STRATEGIC DESIGN OVERVIEW

This multifunctional space, located within the Unity House at a women’s college, was reimagined to better support the cultural organizations that use it daily. The goal was to retain all existing storage while creating a shared space that encourages community and student-led collaboration.

The updated design introduces clear zoning for storage, lounge, and work areas, designed to support a diverse mix of student organizations comfortably seating up to 22 students while maintaining flexibility. A modern eclectic style grounds the room, blending clean lines with warm materials and playful accents. Custom storage solutions keep essentials organized and accessible, while vibrant artwork adds personality and contrast.

To tie everything together, we recommended a commercial-grade peel-and-stick flooring in a medium wood tone, a smart alternative to full LVP. It added warmth, visual cohesion, and dirt-concealing contrast without compromising durability or budget. The result is a shared space that feels welcoming, practical, and tailored to the needs of a dynamic student community.
