STRATEGIC DESIGN OVERVIEW

This open living and dining space was designed to maximize function within a long apartment footprint while creating the soft, refined atmosphere the client envisioned. The living area was carefully proportioned around a generously scaled curved sofa, allowing for comfortable seating without restricting circulation between the kitchen, dining area, and balcony.

The existing shell offered little architectural definition, so rental-friendly interventions were used to bring structure and depth to the space. The dining area was planned as a flexible zone that could also support working from home. A concealed desk allows the client to create a dedicated workspace when needed, then hide it away to preserve the function and appearance of the dining area. This approach adds utility without introducing a visible office into the main living space.

The result is a cohesive apartment space that makes fuller use of the available footprint while remaining open, comfortable, and adaptable to everyday life
